FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Singapore, 23 September 2026
Life Lab Resources has closed a US$1 million Pre-Series A investment round to scale its circular food bio-refinery and expand its end-to-end circular food system. The round was led by Decarb123 Pte. Ltd. (investing through DC123FW Pte. Ltd.), with strategic participation from Keng Eng Kee Holding Pte. Ltd. and follow-on investment from seed investor AC S323 Pte Ltd, an angel syndicate led by Ms Huang Shao-Ning.

Highlights
- US$1 million Pre-Series A round to fund the commercial-scale expansion of LLR’s Singapore bio-refinery.
- Led by Decarb123, with strategic participation from Keng Eng Kee Holding and follow-on investment from an AngelCentral-led syndicate.
- Two new board appointments: Mr Tiong Heng Liong (DC123FW) and Mr Paul Liew (Keng Eng Kee Seafood).
- LLR is the first and only company in Singapore licensed by the Singapore Food Agency to upcycle mixed food waste into animal feed, and is ISO 22000 certified.
“This investment allows us to move from successful early commercial deployment into the next phase of scale. This round gives us the capital and strategic partnerships to scale that process commercially and close the loop from leftover food back to food.”
— Edward Chia, Founder and Managing Director, Life Lab Resources
The new capital will primarily fund the commercial-scale expansion of LLR’s Singapore bio-refinery — including production infrastructure, process optimisation and further commercialisation of its fermentation technologies — as the company builds market demand and production capacity together, and prepares for phased regional expansion.
